
Four g. of crude (3-chloropropyl)(phenyl)ketone, 6 g. of phenylhydrazine hydrochloride and 30 g. of potassium acetate were dissolved in 25 cc. of water and 75 cc. of ethyl alcohol. The mixture was allowed to stand for nine days and the crystalline precipitate then collected on a filter. The crude product melted at 138—140° and after crystallization from alcohol melted at 138—139°.
